Welcome to Your Worthy Career, a podcast with me, Melissa Lawrence. I’m a career and life coach with all the corporate credit and talent development and organizational psychology. I help women like you get extraordinary results by being more you, not less. I won’t just help you have a career experience worthy of you, but I will help you build your self-worth to shift what you think is possible and take the action that will create the career you’ve always wanted, whether it’s more meaningful work you’re passionate about, making more money, getting to your next level, or being more effective as a leader. We are shattering the glass ceiling here. The one that exists for women at work and the one we put on ourselves with our doubt and inner critic. Each week, you will get practical teachings grounded in neuroscience and effective career development strategies. You’ll experience deep mindset shifts and the perfect amount of woo. So you can run your career with ease rather than your career running you. You were born for more, and I’m going to help you get there with maybe a few dance parties along the way. Your up-level begins now.

Hello and welcome to this week’s episode of the podcast.

We are in that nice place between holidays and I hope that you are taking some time off and really enjoying yourself. Now, if you’re anything like me, you’re probably already thinking about 2024 and what you want to achieve and how you want to grow as a person in your career, improvements you might want to make in your personal life. Maybe you’re buying a new journal or you already did and you’re getting everything organized and ready to make 2024 the best year ever. I am a sucker for a beautiful journal with some colorful pens and some stickers sometimes. Those things are going to motivate you, you think, to get those goals done. New Year’s always have a special energy of beginning. Now, I don’t personally do resolutions because I am of the mindset that you can decide to start fresh and turn a page any day of the year. Calendars are really a man-made construct. We made them up. But I do really love the celebration of New Year’s Eve and the anticipation of the possibility that a new year brings on January first. If you’ve ever sat down to create your goals and then three days, two months in, six months in, you don’t follow through or you forget you even created the goals to begin with, you’re not alone.

I’ve totally done that. I was like, Oh, yeah, I had a goal to do that. Or if you buy those beautiful journals and you have 10 different ones partially filled out where then you’re like stopped part way through, you’re not alone because the traditional smart goal framework doesn’t work, and those pretty pens and stickers and all the things we do to try to motivate ourselves, they don’t work. When you sit down with hope of what you want to achieve and you write your goals so perfectly and you make your plan, you’re doing that with a part of your brain that is calm and problem-solution-oriented and logical, but that isn’t the part of the brain that is implementing. It’s a different part of the brain that is responding when you’re doing something new or hard, when you’re feeling vulnerable, tired, hungry, whatever it is. That calm, neutral, logical brain that made those goals isn’t there to save you. You have another version that is questioning your goal altogether and only seeing the obstacles in your way. This is 100% normal. I decided to create a brand new method for creating goals, and I tested it last year.

It’s based on how I help my clients achieve their goals when we’re coaching together. It also plays on how CEOs drive goals and objectives forward even with difficult decisions and obstacles in their way. As a gift for being a listener and my pure desire to help you follow through and create that career and life that you can definitely have and that you definitely want, I decided to build this workshop and offer it to you this year for free. You can enjoy your week, and then you can know that come January 12th, when this training is that you have a plan to create goals that are actually going to be achievable, that are actually going to be fail-proof. No more partially filled out journals, no more hopes and wishes that things were different. You’re actually going to create the things that you want. I’m even going to help you figure out what goals are going to be the best goals for you, whether it’s in your personal life or in your career. You’re invited right now to register and save your seat. This workshop is going to happen on Zoom, and it’s called the CEO Goal Method.

Make your 2024 goals fail-proof. It’s all happening on January 12th at 12:00 PM Eastern. But let me warn you, this isn’t theory, it’s application. This is a workshop. You’re going to walk away with your fail-proof plan. Here are some more details. I’m going to break down a proven method to create 2024 goals that go beyond paper and actually become reality. You’re going to learn how to create goals like a CEO and make 2024 your best year. Smart goals are a snooze-fest. They don’t work. Instead, you’re going to learn why smart goals aren’t effective and how to create goals like a CEO. You’re going to avoid the number one mistake that people make when creating goals. You’re going to discover your unique goals that are going to have the impact that you are longing for. You’re going to create your strategy to ensure your goals don’t stay on your wishlist. You’re going to leave this session with me with your goals and an action plan for 2024 documented in your beautiful training workbook all being sent to you. Are you ready? You’re going to make 2024 the best year ever. Stop having those partially filled workbooks, wishing things were different.

Sign up for the training right now. Head to www.yourworthycareer.com/training to add your name and email so we can send you the Zoom link. This is the only goal setting workshop that you need, and you will be able to use this for all of your goal setting sessions forever. You can use this for your professional development goals at work. You’ll be able to use this next year. It’s something that’s sustainable, that works, that you’re going to be able to use over and over again. Sit back and enjoy the rest of your holiday time and your future self that’s going to thank you for this decision to do things differently this year. I will see you there. The link to register is in the show notes. Enjoy the rest of your holidays and I will talk to you next week.
